Allentown Public Theatre was founded in August 2008 to nurture the tradition of theatre artists living and working in downtown Allentown. The goal of APT is to create an ensemble of professional actors who will perform relevant and accessible theatre for the public. Planned programming includes a bi-lingual children’s theatre series designed as outreach to Allentown’s diverse community; staged musicals, comedies, and dramas offered downtown and in Allentown’s beautiful parks; and workshops for community members interested in learning more about the performing arts.
